Permanence in Rubber-Space- What It Means & How To Achieve It

Section 1- What It Means
Part 1: Preface
After taking quite some time to really iron out the concept of Rubber-Space, and writing an essay on it, I thought of something before posting it. If Rubber-Space is a temporary change in one's state of being, how can one go about lengthening the duration of that period of change? Obviously, that is the ultimate goal of most people.
And, why shouldn't it be? It is a realm of happiness, of content, far removed from the world as one knows it. No longer is a submissive a young business professional, or millworker, or teacher posing as a rubber object, a rubber doll, a pony boy/girl, a puppy or kitten, or a Rubber Master/Mistress... but rather, for a short period of time they ARE that rubber doll, that rubber object, that pony boy/girl, that pup or kitten, that Master or Mistress. They are free to exist without worry, without a sense of forced obligations. Their physical and mental capabilities are no longer spread so thin across so many various avenues. No, they are simply governed by the defaults of their exustence, if only for a short period of time. What a pleasant existence, to have but one overbearing desire, with (comparitively) limited duties.
If this becomes one's ultimate goal... the question that is inevatibly asked is "how long can it be extended?" I would postulate that it can be lengthened any amount of time, for only a few more minutes, to a few hours, all the way up to permanently. Yes, you heard correclty- I feel that this altered state of being, this occupance within Rubber-Space can be permanent. It is certainly one of my deeper, darker, 'less talked about' goals- but one that is never far from the top of my mind.
Upon coming to the conclusion that it can be extended beyond the realm of the temporary and into the world of permanence, the next question is how? How can one ultimately obtain this new state of being no longer as an "altered state" but rather the "default"? I realized immediately that it depends on the role (if any) of the individual, whether they are Dominant or submissive or switch, or neither. I again realized that I can only speak from a submissive's point of view, as I am more in tune with that state of mind as I have not only studied/researched it, but also experience it. And so, as per my norm I thought purely from obtaining this constant Rubber-Space immersion from the submissive's point of view, and therefore this will be written from that angle.
It was at that point that I began to think hard on bridging the gap between theory crafting and real application. It didn't take me long to realize that if gear is directly linked to the ascension to Rubber-Space, then it should in fact be essential to prolonging one's stay. Almost immediately I began to look back on a previous post of mine, entitled "Rubberization and Reeducation: From Fantasy to Reality" (which I have since deleted).
At the time I published it, I was composing the initial draft of my essay which focused on Rubber-Space. I had begun to see the link between "long-term encasement", "re-education", and Rubber-Space. Upon looking back on it now I see that the post was written from a point of view which was removed from the broader concept. In short, I was writing it from the perspective of simply wanting to experience it for its own merits. This was admittedly a bit shallow, or hasty of me. Only after sitting down and thinking and connecting the dots did I realize that I truly wanted to experience it for its integral part in obtaining long-term, even permanent Rubber-Space. Not wanting to misguide anyone, especially myself I immediately deleted it after the publication of my third essay in the "Rubberism, Rubberization, and Rubber-Space" series. And now, I plan on revisiting it, rewriting it in terms of both the steps which need to be taken and how these steps play a role in this permanent ascension into Rubber-Space.
Like my previous set of essays, this will be broken down into smaller sections so as to analyze each facet in detail. Additionally, I can only speak from the submissive viewpoint.
The idea of "permanence" in Rubber-Space could be considered more or less a complete transformation; physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is a transition from a person who merely attains and experiences Rubber-Space, into an entirely new entity whose existence is defined by it.
As I said, it is essentially a transformation. When one is in "rubber-space" they no longer are bothered by the toils of everyday life... these problems simply do not exist for that person, for that amount of time. Only sensation, limited understanding, a drive and longing for more Rubber. Of course, if one makes this transition from Rubber-Space being merely an experience, to it being an existence... these toils and troubles, these slings and arrows of daily life will simply cease to exist. The person is overcome and consumed by a greed for, and need of Rubber... a need to please, a rush of sexuality and debauchery.
Naturally, if these "human" thoughts become extinct, then the person can no longer be called "human" in a sense. It is similar to the debate over people in vegetative or severely mentally handicapped conditions; they are essentially devoid of any "human" thoughts. They may retain human features, human motions and bodily mechanics... but there is a part of them that is distinctly... inhuman.
In Rubber-Space, most "thoughts" are abandoned, discarded. There is no "conscious" thought, but rather it is simply a mass of urges that define the person temporarily. Bearing that in mind, if one attains a permanence in Rubber-Space, then they are in turn defined by these urges, they become their modus operandi, their reason for existing, the very definition of their existence. In short, Rubber Worship becomes their religion, Rubber-Space their Nirvanna, and Rubber their God. (I will elaborate more on this in a future post that may "intersect" the sequence of this series of essays.)
Essentially, the attainment of permanent occupation in Rubber-Space creates a being of its own...
... A Rubber Object. A creature who is governed solely by the need for Rubber, the need (from the submissive side) to please, to be used, the need (from the Dominant side) to control, to use Rubber to further that control.
As I mentioned before, a permanence in Rubber-Space is akin to a transformation. The transition is a harsh one, both in how it is accomplished as well as the end result. Consequently, it is something that one can not simply run headlong into during a fit of extreme sexual arousal. It requires heavy thought; it requires spiritual introspection; it requires a degree of physical preparation.
At the risk of coming across as "elitist", I will venture to say that the 'casual Rubberist' does not have the desire to undergo this "transformation", or may write it off simply as a fantasy, or is not willing to put in the effort and accept the sacrifices to obtain this permanence in Rubber-Space. However, I do not mean to insinuate that a "casual Rubberist" is in any way "inferior" to one who seeks this ultimate Rubber enlightenment.
To put it in the form of an analogy, imagine the "casual Rubberist" as a devout religious person. They regularly attend services, help out in their community, have a close relationship with their Diety of choice. Now, imagine one wanting to make transition as a nun, or a priest... one who is willing to extend themselves farther for a higher power. One is not "superior" to the other, though one is certainly more "devout". It boils down to merely choosing different paths. Neither is inherently "better", simply different, simply more "befitting" the individual.
But I digress. The decision is simply not for everyone. However, if one decides to pursue this aim, then they must undergo a taxing self-assessment, a period of preparation.
This introspection and thought *must* be more than simply asking "Is this what I want?". It must be taken in steps, with one answer leading to the next. If these series of answers do not end with a decision to surrender permanently to Rubber (with or without reasonable compromise), then the decision simply should not be made.
Some of these questions are obvious; "What will happen to the rest of my life?", "What about my family, my friends?", "Is there someone who can help me reach this goal, and if not am I willing to invest the time/effort/energy into searching for them?" Some are not, and it is these less obvious answers that are distinctly personal and must be addressed by each individual as they see fit.
Again, these questions can't be answered "on the spot". Each one takes painstaking thought and introspection. A deep soul search, an exploration of all the possible scenarios and outcomes. Unfortunately, many people (myself included at one time) more or less reach a 'wall' in answering them. That is to say, either one question or an aspect of a question will simply thwart them via indecision. The person wrestles with the two sides of the question's coin, wondering which side to call. Often times, this indecision can be what ultimately stops the dream, the desire, the need to attain permanence in Rubber-Space. I wish I could offer more advice, more instruction than simply "answer it in your own time, in your own way", but that is all I can reasonably say. However, I can additionally offer my own anecdote of how I ultimately came to my conclusion.
Disclaimer: this was simply what *I* chose, and I do not condone/recommend it as an option for anyone else, and undertaking this route comes with its own risks and hazards and responsibilities, none of which I can/will be held accountable for.
I read somewhere in my younger days of people using cough syrup to get high. Cough syrup contains a certain chemical (I will not list it, as I am not recommending trying it) which acts as a dissociative at higher dosages.
Dissociative drugs are "a class of psychoactive drugs which are said to reduce or block signals to the conscious mind from other parts of the brain. Although many kinds of drugs are capable of such action, dissociatives are unique in that they do so in such a way that they produce hallucinogenic effects, which may include sensory deprivation, dissociation, hallucinations, and dream-like states or trances." -Wikipedia
Essentially, they 'close out' the conscious mind to a certain degree, varying among dosage levels. The "trip" induced by the chemical in cough syrup is characterized by 4 "plateaus" with markedly different effects. The higher plateaus (especially the fourth) are beyond 'recreational' use and result in almost "shamanic" experiences, and is used for meditative or creative purposes. Essentially, the conscious mind is blocked out. The "clatter" in one's head is erased, leaving behind no conscious thoughts. It is basically a "reversal" of the norm; instead of sitting with eyes closed and having to consciously block out all your thoughts, they are done so naturally; and one must purposefully think of something. It is one of the rare occasions where one can sit, eyes closed, and think of absolutely nothing unless actually WANTING to. Before taking anything, I suited myself up in my catsuit, slipped in my vibrating & inflatable anal plug, cock sheath, vibrating cock rings, hood, gloves, gasmask with rebreather. I wanted to make sure that my entire mind and body was focused on Rubber.
Upon taking the required dosage recommended for this plateau according to various physical attributes, I waited for the trip to begin. It took awhile, and during that time I made a conscious effort to think about Rubber, to think about my dilemma, my mental hang-ups, etc etc. I focus my conscious mind on the issue at hand. Slowly, as the trip took hold this conscious thought slipped away, and was replaced simply with "feeling" the remnant of that thought. As I ascended through the plateaus (which took a bit of time) I found that my mind was still. I once more brought myself to thinking about the issues at hand, and began to explore these issues. It was more of a 'soul-search' than an appeal to any level of reason or rationality. It is impossible for me to put into words what happened, or to describe the process to you (because I (a) can't remember that well and (b) because it is simply inexplicable). Suffice it to say that the questions weren't answered by a "yes or no" as we know them traditionally, but by feelings. I never once thought "yes" to a question, or thought "I should do ______" to a scenario, I merely FELT what I should do. To some degree, it was a very... spiritual feeling, in a way.
Upon deciding that one will undertake this as a 'life goal', one must understand that the preparation does not stop there. In fact, more preparation is required. It is far more than simply saying "Yes, this is what I want..." and haphazardly forming a plan to make it a reality. No, the spirit and the mind must be prepared. For, when these are prepared to accept and strive for the end goal, the body will follow suit.
I could go on for hours and hours listing every single facet that must be addressed, and how to address them in a somewhat universal way- but that would not only take an extremely long time, but it would also detract from the personal nature of this preparation stage. One must understand that the "finding" of these issues, and one's conscious resolution of them beforehand is a vital part of the process. They serve as progress markers, as points of reflection that let the person know how far they have come and that they are making progress. The more facets of preparation that one finds, the better. It forces one to devote more time and energy to the goal, and it will ultimately ease the transition.
Ah, now we get to the cruxt of the issue at hand. Now that one has made the decision, and has prepared one's self for the ultimate transformation, one can begin to undertake the physical journey.
As I mentioned before in some of my essays, Rubber-Space is obtained by traveling through states of mind to arrive at a state of being. You may recall that I stated that one must travel through these states in a progression to arrive at the ultimate destination for a single instance of Rubber-Space. The same is true for this "Permanent" position. That is to say, one must progress to that point and instead of being brought back down, one must be held there. During that time, the individual must be stripped, the concept of the "self" annihilated by any means necessary, the idea of a "normal" world eradicated from their mind. Essentially, once they are brought to that space they must be (for lack of a better term), 'reprogrammed' while there to continually operate at that level, to stay there - permanently.
To create an analogy, imagine you are upgrading the operating system of your computer. You insert the operating system CD, make a few choices and adjustments, and let the program do its thing. You are creating a "new" environment, an installation environment per se. If you abort the process before the repgrogram/upgrade is complete, the process fails. However, once the upgrade is complete, the computer system is successfully operating in an entirely new environment, on its own, with little to no trace of the old operating system remaining.
Of course it should go without saying that this is something that can not be obtained overnight. Nor in a few days, or weeks. It is a long, arduous, time consuming method. At this point, I will stress the fact that this must be done with the help of another individual, either in a strict D/s setting/relationship, or some sort of comparable relationship where there is an "administrator" and the "subject". For ease of use and understanding, I will refer to these roles/positions in common D/s terms; the Dominant, and the submissive.
As time consuming and hard as it is on the Dominant, it is infinitely harder on the submissive due to the training that it (the submissive) must undergo. Part of the preparation that I mentioned before includes creating a detailed, well thought out, well planned, and realistic training regimen. No stone can be left unturned.
I have spent many, many, MANY hours developing a training regimen for myself for when I get the opportunity to realistically make the jump into permanence in Rubber-Space. This regimen (for example purposes) is pages upon pages long and details all sorts of things; from required gear, to design of my catsuit, methods of prolonged encasement, 'reprogramming' techniques, feeding and bathroom schedules/methods, etc etc. Again, preparation is the key.
At any rate, I personally believe that several things must be in place/utilized in order to maximize the efficiency of this transition. First and foremost is the presence of rubber, as much as possible for as long as possible. Secondly, is the creation of mental weakness, a prolonged period where the psyche is exposed, becomes vulnerable to manipulation and crafting. Thirdly, there must be a union between what is programmed and rubber. Essentially, the mind must be peeled back layer by layer until core is left, naked and vulnerable. This core must be then metaphorically wrapped in Rubber, and the layers must be replaced, one at a time, with Rubber.
The specific methods used are entirely up to the individuals who construct them, and I can not be held accountable for the results of any methods chosen. It can range from harsh and evil to mild. However, I believe that the "harsher" the environment/regimen, the more powerful the results. The more the mind and body and spirit is stressed and broken down, the more vulnerable it becomes- the more it can be molded and construed, plied and prodded to create a Rubber Being, one who dwells permanently in Rubber-Space.
It was at that point that I began to think hard on bridging the gap between theory crafting and real application. It didn't take me long to realize that if gear is directly linked to the ascension to Rubber-Space, then it should in fact be essential to prolonging one's stay.
